The Choson are an East Asian civilization that appears in Age of Empires and the Rise of Rome expansion. It is a widely used civilization in multiplayer, but mostly in Deathmatches. They are both offensive and defensive and are powerful from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. All of the Choson buildings have a distinct Asian-styled architecture, along with the Yamato and the Shang. They are depicted as the Korean civilization in subsequent games. Bonuses[]
Strategy[]The advantages of the Choson are that their Long Swordsmen and Legion have another additional 80 hitpoints, making them a good offensive civilization to begin with. Their Tower Ranges have an additional 2 points, and Priests cost 30% less. All of these bonuses as a whole makes the Choson an excellent choice on both offensive and defensive strategies.
